A Championship Diary 200/2001 Part 3 - Stepping It Up Another Gear.
BHB 0 - WS1 0 ( 28th Jan. 2001,Kesinee,13.30 k.o.) Yawnfest number ? I can tell you little about this one apart from : a)it was very very hot, b)Webstudio had a squad of about twenty young Thai lads, which must have helped, c)this game spawned the famous riddle:'unscramble the following to discover an appropriate phrase :our forwards a banjo couldn't with a hit cows arse.' Man of Match : Sit - Will MVI 1 - BHB 5 ( 2nd April 2001,Kesinee,13.30 k.o.) The affectionately named Bullshead Whingers sighed a double sigh of relief on hearing the game would be played at 4pm and at the Ministry. No searing 1:30 temperatures and we like the rolling plains of the Ministry. The opening exchanges were dominated by the Yellow Whingers who came close and gained a series of corners. Junior the irrepressible, that's me coming close with a header before volleying home from another Nick Smart delivery. MVI fought back and scholesy and the saint gave the defence some concerns before Smarty sent another DHL, sign here please, onto the barnet of the drunken Scott, that's Dave Breen not Tam. A scintillating run down the wing by, well yes me, returned the favour to Smart, who kindly allowed Vessey to ponce about with the ball before slamming it home.Half time 0-3 MVI came out in the second half looking like a side that wanted to score at least one. Pressure was mounted on the yellow. BHB counter attack and Big Frank opens his account. As many defences know it's impossible to keep the saint out and after a save by Oat from scholesy, Simon tucks in the rebound. MVI hit the side netting on a couple of occasions, I pop back into defence to shore things up because I am truly great. From the new foundations there is just enough time for Chatree to have his weekly one-on-one, Miss Marple doesn't even look up from her knitting as sure enough Chatree runs, stumbles and the keeper gathers, and for Frank to mug the defender, thats a steal or turnover for you yanks, race in on goal and hammer home from a tight angle. Scorers:Junior Bradshaw, Dave Breen, Nick Smart, Simon the saint Randall, and Big Frank x 2.
Man of the match:Nick Kemp, always under-rated but up against a tough and wily opponent today. - Junior

TISC 0 - BHB 3 ( 18th Feb. 2001,Patana front pitch,14.30 k.o. ) Whoever picked Pattana front pitch on a 2:30pm kick-off must have been doing their homework on last seasons results. In days gone by the BHB would have been crying into their Saturday night beers. Nowadays a chance to lie in for an extra hour and travel to a pitch taxi drivers are able to find, put the yellow in just the right attitude. Touted as a six pointer, I personally thought TISC would have been a bit more ferocious, but the first 20 minutes was one way traffic. Dave Breen scoring twice in this period, latching onto through balls that sliced like katoy razors to the heart of the TISC defence. The turning point could have come at that time as Nat got his marching orders from the referee. Although TISC came into the game, they failed to gain any authority and were once again carved open, as Breen turned provider for Pants.Half time 3-0 The second half saw improvement from TISC. Once again they couldn't turn superior numbers into dominance. Chris in the midfield gamely battling and getting the best out of his supporting cast, managed to get TISC into dangerous positions around the box. BHB defence nicely composed just doing enough to unsettle and spoil any attacks, turning defence into fast counter attacks... ...one of these of course falling to Bruce Lee lookalike Chatree. (see any other match report for details) Scorers:Dave Breen x 2,Nick Smart. Man of the match:Dave Breen, the quintessential lone striker. - Junior

WS1 2 - BHB 2 ( Sunday 10th March,2001,Kesinee,13.30 k.o. ) Rather than me write a report, just read the Webstudio report above.Much the same here, except Webstudio decided to save the sunburn by deploying a grand total of none of their farang players.A bit of a p**s-poor Bullys performance if I remember rightly, going one down, dragging it back to two-one and then throwing away the three points near the end.Very forgetable. Scorers : Junior,Frank. Man of the Match : Frank - Will
